R&R is more commonly known as "response", who are responsible for policing the front line to keep the streets of Merseyside safe. If you ever need the police, you would normally call 999.
The R&R teams would more commonly be the officer's first on scene to assist with your issue and assist in keeping you, your family and friends safe. If you ever see our vehicles around, make sure you give us a wave!

Here you will find all the latest fleet for our Authorized Firearms teams. More commonly known as “AFOs” they are responsible for policing dangerous and life threatening incidents.
They are often called upon when everyone else would be running in the opposite direction. The firearms officers will also work closely with RPU, policing key roads in Merseyside to reduce violent crime and to disrupt criminals entering Merseyside via the motorway and other key routes.
The Firearms department have a variety of vehicles from BMW. The Firearms department have various skills from Advanced drivers, authorized TASER officers, equipped with Heckler & Koch G36, Glock 17, Heckler & Koch HK69A1 and access to the latest ANPR technology. Here you will find all the latest fleet for our Roads Policing teams. More commonly known as "RPU", they are responsible for policing the motorway and key roads in Merseyside to reduce delays and keep the county moving.
RPU will attend a variety of calls from Road Traffic Collisions, stopping Drink/Drug Drivers, bringing dangerous drivers to justice and enforcing Road Traffic offences. RPU have a variety of vehicles from BMWs to Volvo’s.
The RPU have various skills from T-PAC Advanced drivers, authorized TASER officers and access to the latest ANPR technology. If you ever see our vehicles around, make sure you give us a wave!
Fast, sexy, sleek, fast and comfy too. One of the most common vehicles used nationally by other RPU teams.
One of the most common 4x4's RPU has to offer. Despite it's size, they are extremely quick.
Roads Policing hold various unmarked cars that perform different roles. A great addition when it comes to enforcing road traffic offences.

The Force Contact Center is the heart of all Emergency Operations. This divison is maintained under The Joint Services Department.
FCC prioritise and coordinate all of the emergency calls which come in to the control room. They will liaise with units on the ground to provide effective coverage to all ongoing incidents.
The FCC are the first point of contact to members of the public and its imperative their communication and problem solving skills are excellent.
Used to control all the calls coming through. This is what brings MerPolC Together.
Used for officers to conduct a Police National Computer check on either a person or vehicle.
If a wanted vehicle pings one of many ANPR camera, Control will be made alert and the relevant units will be sent.
The Civilian Operations are one of the most important divisions within Merseyside Police Community. They provide the blood to all our official patrols and have the responsibility in creating calls. This divison is maintained under The Joint Services Department.
They can create calls such as Theft, Road Traffic Collisions, Medical Emergency, Domestic Disturbance, Suspisious Person, Dangerous Driving and many more.
Without this division, Merseyside Police Community cannot continue to thrive like it always does.
